01-11-16 Research and Innovation Institute to award scholarships
The submission of applications for scholarships for doctoral candidates in Greece from the Hellenic Institute of Research and Technology (ELIDEK) began today, and applications will be received until the 30 November 2006 deadline.
This proclamation is the first action of ELIDEK for 2016, and the total budget for scholarships is 8.5 million euros.
In the immediate future, there will be a proclamation for the second action of ELIDEK, with a nine million euro budget, to support young academics in post-doctoral programmes.
The proclamation has been published by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) (www.gsrt.gr), as well as on the website of the Sector of Research and technology of the Ministry of Education, Research and Technology (www.erevna.minedu.gov.gr).
The aim of the actions of ELIDEK, in the framework of the National Strategy for Research and Technology, is to offer support our exceptional human resources by creating attractive opportunities to conduct high-level research in our country.
The above initiatives may stem the ongoing academic brain drain and create quality research enclaves which can contribute to supporting the country’s development.
